Aspen Ladd started her combat sports career at the age of fourteen. As well as BJJ classes as well, she was also trained in wrestling, boxing and kickboxing. When she was 18, Ladd made her amateur debut at WCFC. Ladd built on this victory and then went on to a three-fight winning streak at Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents within the first round in each fight. She then returned to WCFC where she defeated Leslie Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Aspen defeated Silvia Babaeghian as well as Maddy Simmons before fighting Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9. Cynthia was defeated by Aspen with a majority vote. The loss put a mark on Ladd's amateur record. Ladd was victorious in her subsequent bout with Roma Pawelek to improve to a record of 8-1. Aspen signed her contract with Invicta FC in 2015 to begin her career as a professional. The InvictaFC11 fight was her first professional bout. She faced Linalansberg during UFC Fight Night 118. She dominated Lina by pound-for-pound, and took the TKO round later in the second. The next time she fought Tonya Evinger at UFC 229, her victory was even more impressive. Ladd stopped Evinger's fight after the opening round. The winner also got the bonus for performance of night. Sijara Eubanks from Invicta FC was her opponent for a rematch at UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was her debut major fight. Ladd won the night's fight bonus, after both fighters had an intense fight back and forth. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie stopped Ladd's winning streak with just 16 seconds. Yana Knitskaya was defeated in UFC 7 ESPN 7's 3rd round, was defeated by Randamie. In a last-minute substitute to her UFC fight, she took on Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She was beaten by a majority verdict.
