Kat Dennings is a Pennsylvanian born in Bryn Mawr on 13 June 1986. She was named Katherine Victoria Litwack. Ellen Dennings, Kat's mother is a professional writer as well as a speech therapist. She has a father named Gerald. Gerald is a professor in a prestigious college in molecular biology. Dennings is the youngest out of five children, and was brought up in an all-Jewish household. Dennings attended homeschooling, and attended school only for a short time. As she began acting at an early age, she realized that homeschooling was the ideal solution. At the age of nine when she began acting in commercials. After finishing high school, she relocated with her family in Los Angeles in order to explore acting. She began auditioning under the name of Kat Dennings. Kat Dennings' acting debut came after her move to LA after appearing in HBO's "Sex and the City" in 2000.
