
Catherine Jane Ford (born 5 December 1969) is professionally known as Catherine Tate, is an English actress, comedian and writer. Her work on The Catherine Tate Show, a BBC sketch comedy series has brought her many awards. She was nominated for seven BAFTAs as well as an International Emmy Award. Tate played Donna Noble in Doctor Who's Christmas special in 2006. Then she reprised her role as the Tenth Doctor's frequent companion on the fourth series. [2] Following the success of The Catherine Tate Show, Tate was a part of Joanie Taylor ("Nan") in the BBC One comedy series Catherine Tate's Nan (2009-2015) as well as in the film The Nan Movie (2022). In 2011, she was introduced to playing the role of Nellie Bertram in The Office, the U.S. version of The Office, and was an ongoing character until the show was cancelled. [3] She played Miss Sarah Postern (2013-2014), and Magica de Spell (2017-2021) in the BBC One sitcom Big School. In 2022, Tate starred as six characters in the Netflix comedy series, Hard Cell, which she also wrote and directed.
